Financial Workshop – How to Protect Your Assets from Market Volatility

Description

This year has proven to be unique among our lives.  We have experienced a pandemic that not only attacked our health it attacked our 401K’s, our IRA’s, and our financial portfolios.  Many of us saw portfolios drop as much as 32% which served to add to the stress of the pandemic.  It does not have to be that way. There are strategies that will help you to protect your assets from these tumultuous events, help mitigate rising taxes and keep more or your family's wealth.

My purpose is simple: to provide my Christian brothers and sisters some education on how to mitigate the impacts of the next pandemic, market crash, tax increase and other debilitating financial setbacks.  We all know the story of the man in the flood who complained to God when he reached heaven that his prayers to save his life were never answered.  God’s response according to the story was simple: I sent you two boats and a helicopter.

Important insights and information that will be covered:

  • How to weather the next financial storm.
  • Social Security – should you depend on it?
  • Factors that cause market volatility.
  • The outlook for the US Economy in 2020 and beyond.
  • How will a 15% tax increase impact you and is it inevitable?
  • What a sound financial strategy looks like.
  • Bring your questions!
  • Attendees will receive a complimentary workbook (one per household) - Investment Strategies for Uncertain Markets! (In lieu of charging for this workbook, we kindly ask that you bring a food item for the Weld County food bank. Any item(s) you can give is greatly appreciated but not expected).
This is an informational workshop only - I like to think this is the boat.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Lane (Bob) Farmer, PhD
Professor of Finance, Founder RL Farmer Wealth Strategies

Dr.  Bob Farmer has invested more than 25 years of his life working with business managers and individuals toward identifying, understanding, and managing financial risk.  From running his own companies to managing a bank, his extensive expertise in the world of finance has shown him that risk management is a never-ending, keep-your-hands-on-the-tiller undertaking.  He believes the worst financial mistake you can ever make in your life is running out of money before you run out of time.  What happens to a senior’s life if significant financial difficulties arise?  Few people can return to work at 75 or 80.

Bob believes it is crucial to get things right the first time, and that revolves around the notion that family and business assets—no matter how extensive or modest—are deserving of commitment and forethought with a view toward providing as much protection as possible.  He prides himself on building complex personalized plans with the goal of providing financial dignity and security no matter how long an individual—or couple—may live.

Attention to detail and breadth, Bob’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSBM) from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) from Regis University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences (Finance Emphasis) from Walden University.  Bob is a registered financial advisor and holds his Series 7, Series 65 and Series 63 licenses.  Additionally, he is the author of Managing Your Own Retirement; can you do it, should you do it, and how you do it. (ISBN 13:978-1979715331).  Bob is also an adjunct professor at Southern New Hampshire University teaching classes in financial markets and commercial finance.
