Our Principals

Invested in your success

It starts with a goal.

Our founder, R. Lane (Bob) Farmer, Ph.D had a goal in mind when he started this practice – he wanted to make a difference in other’s lives.  Growing up Bob knew firsthand what it was like to struggle financially, retiring wasn’t an option for many of his loved ones, they worked hard their whole life only to get to their golden years worrying about how they were going to take care of themselves and their spouses.  Not wanting others to struggle, Bob decided to use his analytical mind, love for numbers and his compassion to build a business on helping others build financial wealth so that they can grow old with the dignity they deserve.

Helping others is at the cornerstone of everything we do at RL Farmer Wealth Strategies, it’s what drives every decision we make.  Bob realized early on in his career that his clients deserved experts in wealth management and investment planning to help them achieve a better financial future.  Not only do our advisors have many years’ experience in building customized financial portfolios for individuals and companies, they have the advanced education that is needed to be able to understand risk modeling and sophisticated investment products – two key components that are critical when choosing an investment planner.

MEET THE TEAM

RL (Bob) Farmer, Ph.D

RL (Bob) Farmer, Ph.D

      President & Chief Investment Officer

Dr.  Bob Farmer has invested more than 25 years of his life working with business managers and individuals toward identifying, understanding, and managing financial risk.  From running his own companies to managing a bank, his extensive expertise in the world of finance has shown him that risk management is a never-ending, keep-your-hands-on-the-tiller undertaking.  He believes the worst financial mistake you can ever make in your life is running out of money before you run out of time.  What happens to a senior’s life if significant financial difficulties arise?  Few people can return to work at 75 or 80.

Bob believes it is crucial to get things right the first time, and that revolves around the notion that family and business assets—no matter how extensive or modest—are deserving of commitment and forethought with a view toward providing as much protection as possible.  He prides himself on building complex personalized plans with the goal of providing financial dignity and security no matter how long an individual—or couple—may live.

Attention to detail and breadth, Bob’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSBM) from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) from Regis University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences (Finance Emphasis) from Walden University.  Bob is a registered financial advisor and holds his Series 7, Series 65 and Series 63 registrations.  Additionally, he is the author of Managing Your Own Retirement; can you do it, should you do it, and how you do it. (ISBN 13:978-1979715331).  Bob is also an adjunct professor at Southern New Hampshire University teaching classes in financial markets and commercial finance.

Bob proudly served our country for 7 years in the US Army with numerous overseas deployments.  His goal is to help you plan carefully so that you can indeed enjoy the golden years of your life.

          William "Hob" Wubbena, MBA

          William "Hob" Wubbena, MBA

              Wealth Manager

Hob Wubbena brings years of experience as an engineer and executive for high-tech corporations and startups to RL Farmer Wealth Strategies. His strategic approach was fine-tuned from building strategies using complex products and stiff competition with high-tech corporations (HP, Agilent), startups (such as a NASA spinoff & 3D printing startup) – to win in a variety of good times and downturns, resource setbacks, and high taxes and inflation.

Hob knows firsthand the unique financial needs that do-it-yourself investors, engineers, and retirees face and offers real world financial strategies using institutional-grade solutions (not used by many advisors due to their complexity) that deliver most of the market’s return with lower risk to meet long-term goals.

As a fiduciary in advisory relationships, Hob’s clients and their resources have his respect – regardless of net worth. He will do what is right and, in his clients, best interest to meet their life goals – whether 5 or 50 years away – to help them financially:

              • Guard those close… to protect those they care about (cash flow, emergency funds, protection),
              • Grow what’s owned… to build capacity (investments, outpace taxes & inflation, retirement),
              • Give what’s given… to impact their world (legacy, estate, charity).

Hob has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master’s Degree in Business (Executive MBA) from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. Hob is a registered financial advisor and has his Series 7 and Series 66 registrations. He has dozens of publications worldwide and has been a guest lecturer at Georgia Institute of Technology, Colorado State University, and Vanderbilt University.
